Overview

Highlights & Benefits

Join us in Las Vegas for the 4th annual conference, Birth Injuries & the Law: Clinical Challenges and Medical Malpractice, where hot spots in medical malpractice litigation related to obstetrics, perinatal and neonatal claims intersect.  Despite the greatest efforts to advance mother and baby safety, perinatologist, obstetricians, attending MDs, nurse midwives, registered nurses, nurse practitioners and hospitals are increasingly facing medical malpractice suits and staggering “mega-verdicts”.

The 2016 Birth Injuries & the Law will offer a forum to discuss and exchange ideas with experts from the interprofessional healthcare team, as well as the opportunity to advance your knowledge and take home clinical pearls. We know you’ll be energized by attending and challenged to examine your own team’s policies and procedure for best-practices to protect yourself against birth injury litigation!

Highlights:

  • Update on current trends in birth injury litigation for clinicians and experts in medical malpractice.
  • Focus on practical strategies to ensure a culture of patient safety, understand the nuts and bolts of litigation, discuss hot topics in informed content and electronic medical records, reflect on clinical challenges of caring for a critically injured neonate, identify common leadership liability, and much more!
  • Gain penetrating insights into the unique environment of a courtroom in a half-day civil litigation Mock Trial. Experienced trial attorneys and knowledgeable witnesses will portray this adversarial contest using the facts of an actual perinatal case. You, the audience, will be the jury.  Hear the facts, assess the credibility of the witnesses, and decide a verdict!
  • JUST ADDED - Talk on Zika! Listen to the Faculty Panel discuss the lastest updates on Zika, Pregnancy and Birth Injuries.  Learn about current medical advisories as well as potential legal issues related to misdiagnosis or treament. In addition, learn about effects on fetal development, prevention tips, treating infected patients, and status of vaccines.
  • New Grad Pricing! A substantial discount for attorney, physician and nurse “new grads”. If you graduated in 2011 or later, enhance your professional development at this national conference.
  • Enjoy the dazzling city of Las Vegas with a multitude of restaurants and entertainment options.

Bring your questions and be prepared to learn, relax and network with other clinicians and attorneys.
