PATTY CASON, MSN, FNP-BC

A family nurse practitioner with a specialty in gynecology, Patty Cason has practiced for over 30 years in a wide variety of clinical settings. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor and guest lecturer at UCLA in the Family Nurse Practitioner program.

Patty is a consultant to numerous governmental and training agencies, including the California Office of Family Planning (OFP) Family Pact Program, Clinical Training Center for Family Planning (Title X), California Family Health Center (CFHC), Affiliates Risk Management (ARMS) for Planned Parenthood Federation, ASCCP, California Department of Public Health Cancer Detection Section, and JSI. She has lectured and conducted trainings extensively across the USA on a diverse range of women's health topics and is published in several peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease.

Patty just completed writing a manual for incorporating sexual and reproductive services in primary care settings and is piloting IUC trainings with the use of a new state-of-the-art electronic pelvic simulator at Planned Parenthood Affiliates across the U.S.

She is actively promoting innovative patient-centered contraception counseling techniques through train the trainer programs and research.
