Conference Program

Preconference: Focus on Infectious Disease

Infectious diseases continue to play a significant role in short-term and long-term morbidity for the critically ill neonate.  Prevention is key!  However, when infections do develop, it is essential to determine a treatment strategy using evidence-based medication strategies and appropriate monitoring.  Bring your questions and cases and explore clinical applications of the knowledge shared by the expert faculty and your colleagues.

This Preconference will enable you to:

  • Implement evidence-based guidelines for antimicrobial, antifungal and antiviral therapies in the NICU.
  • Discuss the importance, challenges and controversies surrounding immunizations for preterm infants.
  • Examine new and upcoming infectious disease treatment strategies available for the critically ill newborn.

“This is my fourth virtual conference and I am hooked. Your support staff is excellent. Thank you!”

“What a great conference. The speakers were wonderful as was the tech support. I was nervous about the technology part of the webcast but this turned out to be a breeze tech wise. The chat feature was fun and made me feel included. I also saved approximately 1/2 my CME allotment not having to pay for travel -- thanks!”
